G'day GolfZoners,

Father's day is almost here. It is the time of year when you start thinking about getting out for a round or two in your shorts rather than your wet weather gear. It is also the time when you receive that pack of underwear when you were wishing for the latest Callaway or swing gadget. Maybe next year.
The majors are over for another year and last weekends climax certainly had plenty of drama. Next will be "will he or won't he be picked?" as Corey Pavin decides to include Tiger in his team for the Ryder cup.
Get out and have a hit this weekend and remember there are plenty of gifts for Fathers in our online store, golfzone.com.au

Laser Stick hits GolfZone

New to GolfZone this month is the Unex Laser Swin Stick. It is one of the best training aids we have seen to date enabling the golfer instant feed back on the path of the golf swing. A laser emits from both ends outlining your swing plane enabling instant correction.
A built in impact weight means you’ll actually be able to feel when you have a solid moment of impact, and hear it too. Click here for more information

This years winner of The Open:
Louis Oosthuizen, is a former member of the foundation that Ernie Els has developed, EEFF. The foundation was set up “To identify talented young South Africans predominantly from families of limited resources and provide them with educational and life-skill assistance and playing opportunities in order to produce successful, well-rounded and educated young golfers." An elated Els was quoted “he didn't give himself a chance, he is a quiet and unassuming guy, but he has shown everyone what a great champion he is."

# Peter Lonard:
is continuing to make progress in overcoming his injury but has decided to delay his return to golf to ensure a full recovery. "My specialist is happy enough with the progress and I am now playing on a regular basis but he has suggested that it is not worth placing too much early pressure on it at this stage. All the progress we have made since the operation might come unstuck and so I am prepared to wait a little longer. I would rather do that and be sure than overdo it."
"I hope to be back playing tournament golf around September or October but even if I have to write off most of this year then at least I know I am giving everything the best possible chance of a full recovery."

#One of the hottest properties in golf:
Jin Jeong, was reported to be applying for Australian citizenship after his 14th placed finish at the Open.
The 20 year old is an Australian resident and has helped his home course Waverley become the first non-sandbelt club in 70 years to win the Division One VGA pennant. However, he is now reportedly reconsidering Australian citizenship in light of sponsorship opportunities from South Korea. "I've got permanent residency now but I can't say much about citizenship now because we need to wait and we need to think about it more," Jeong told AFP at St Andrews.
